Training Model and Objectives

Based on the goals and needs of international students undertaking short-term non-degree Chinese language studies in China, the program adopts a layered teaching model with small-class instruction. It provides training in basic Chinese language knowledge and skills. Additionally, the program offers a variety of extracurricular activities tailored to students’ academic and professional interests, blending education with entertainment to enhance students’ language skills and cultural understanding.

The program aims to achieve the following objectives:

1. Deliver systematic and standardized beginner and intermediate-level Chinese language instruction to meet students’ Chinese language needs and improve their communication skills;
2. Offer high-quality Chinese culture courses to enhance students’ cultural understanding;
3. Organize engaging extracurricular activities to spark students’ interest in learning Chinese;
4. Lay a solid foundation for students’ further Chinese language studies.

Learning Method and Duration

After taking a placement test, students will be assigned to either a beginner or intermediate class for Chinese language studies.
The program duration is one semester. Upon completion, students who meet the academic and attendance requirements will receive a certificate of completion from the university.

Course Offerings

1. Beginner Chinese Courses:Designed for students with no prior knowledge of Chinese, courses include Beginner Comprehensive Chinese, Beginner Chinese Listening, Beginner Chinese Speaking, and Chinese Cultural Experience. After six months of study, students are expected to: Acquire a vocabulary of 300–500 words; Understand basic Chinese grammar structures; Engage in simple daily conversations in Chinese; Gain an introductory understanding of Chinese culture.
2. Intermediate Chinese Courses:For students with a beginner-level proficiency, courses include Intermediate Comprehensive Chinese, Intermediate Chinese Speaking, Intermediate Chinese Reading, and HSK Test Preparation. After six months of study, students are expected to: Acquire a vocabulary of 1,000–1,200 words; Achieve an approximate HSK Level 4 proficiency.

*1. University Application Form
-Download the application form, fill it out on your computer, make sure you put applicant's digital signature, student's digital signature and student's guardian's digital signature(3 digital signatures) on it and submit it in PDF format that turned from word document. DO NOT print it and fill by handwriting.
-Complete all fields as fully and accurately as possible. Do not leave any blanks — write “None” if a section does not apply.
-The form must be filled in English or Chinese.

*2. CV
-Download the template here fill it and submit filled CV in word format.
-Written in Chinese or in English. Your resume must include a complete and continuous list of your education and work experience, covering all periods up to the time you apply to university, without missing a single year or month.
-Some universities may require you to use their designated CV templates, which must be downloaded and completed accordingly.

*3. Photocopy of valid passport
The page with name, passport number & expiration date, and a photo included. All the information which are red circled on the main page of the passport should be concerned and prepared exactly as the same, that is, besides this information, the Chinese must be marked there accordingly. *4. The passport page with parents' information
-If your passport contains parents information, please make sure you upload those pages here. For All the information which are red circled on the page of passport should be concerned and prepared exactly as the same, that is, besides these information, the Chinese must be marked accordingly. Please check the template for reference.
-If you are sure your passport doesn't contain parents' information you can upload your previous passport again.

*5. Academic transcript of highest education
The Chinese remarks of the document must be written there on the right corners on mark sheet, please check the template for reference. All students marks on mark sheets will be checked on Internet for the purpose of authenticity verification. You can download a template or sample from here.
*6. School leaving certificate(certificate/diploma of highest education)
Graduation certificate in languages other than Chinese or English should be translated into Chinese. The Chinese remarks of the document must be written there on the right corners. You can download a template or sample from here.
*7. Physical Examination Form
-Download the form template, print it, and bring it to a hospital for the required medical tests. The hospital will complete the form with your results.
-The medical examination must cover all items listed on the form.
-Ensure your photo is attached and the form is stamped and signed by the hospital after the examination.
-The medical results are valid for 6 months only.
-Forms that are incomplete, lack a final physician’s suggestion, missing the attending physician’s signature, official hospital stamp, or applicant’s sealed photo will be considered invalid.
-The document must be in English or Chinese.

*8. Non-criminal Record Certificate
-Please note that this document is generally valid for only 6 months. For instance, if you submit your application in March, your non-criminal record must have been issued no earlier than September of the previous year.
-Obtain this certificate from the local police station of your current residence, confirming that you have had no criminal record during the 6 months prior to the date of issuance.
-If you are currently in China, the certificate must be issued by the local Chinese police.
-If the document is not in Chinese or English, it must be translated and notarized by an authorized agency or relevant authority. Self-translations are not accepted.
*9. Photo
-A recent passport-sized ID photo (2 x 2 inches) with a plain white background.
-Full face visible, no headwear (except for religious reasons).
-Taken within the last 6 months.
*10. Supporting Documents: Certificate of Good Conduct
Provided by your current/previous school/company in Chinese/English to improve your success rate. You can download a template or sample from here.
Tips: For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit. If you are a student, you need to provide transfer certificate, leaving certificate, certificate of attendance rate issued by previous school and your current residence permit.
